Police Chief: Rashaun Grant
The Jamestown Police Department is committed to serving and protecting the residents and visitors of Jamestown, South Carolina. Our mission is to provide a safe and secure environment through community partnerships, professional law enforcement, and proactive policing.
Rashaun Grant was appointed Chief of Police by Mayor Roy Pipkin on September, 26 2025, Chief Grant brings over 7 years of distinguished Emergency Services experience to the Town of Jamestown. Chief Grant Graduated from Spartanburg Methodist College with his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. He has served as Firefighter since Age 16 In Hampton County SC.
After college Chief Grant obtained a Full time FF Position with The City of Walterboro SC where he advanced through the ranks and made Engineer. Chief Grant then went to Orangeburg Public Safety where he obtained his Law Enforcement Credentials in 2018 and served a Public Safety Officer II (police officer and fire firefighter) which is something is he very passionate about.
Chief Grant then came to Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office in 2021 and served as Patrol Deputy for the South End of Berkeley County. He was transferred to Special operations and Served as a traffic deputy obtaining many awards, commendations for selfless service to the Citizens throughout Berkeley County, He also obtained the rank of Corporal. Fun Fact Chief Grant will graduate with his Bachelors in Administration Spring 2026.
Throughout his career, Chief Grant has demonstrated a strong commitment to proactive policing, development of leadership skills, building meaningful relationships within the communities he serves. His approach is rooted in transparency, accountability, collaboration, loyalty and trust.
